INTRODUCTION
I am passionate about supporting riders of all levels to elevate their riding or horse training experience to new levels of lightness, refinement and harmony.
By blending the principles of natural horsemanship, classical dressage and the Alexander Technique, I aim to create a unique experience that nurtures both your riding skills and your depth of connection with your equine partner. Whether you’re a beginner building a solid foundation or an experienced rider refining your technique, each session is thoughtfully tailored to support you wherever you are in your journey. With gentle, hands-on guidance—both on and off the horse—I work to help students develop greater body awareness, release unnecessary tension, and find more balance and alignment in the saddle.

My Story – The Younger Years
I have loved horses ever since I can remember. My mum said she knew it was serious when I was offered a lead rein ride on a tiny, fluffy brown pony at a country park. Apparently convincing me to say goodbye to Midge after the 2 minute experience caused a bit of a scene!
We couldn’t afford a horse when I was younger, so instead I read as many horsey books as I could: Sheltie the Shetland Pony, Black Beauty and Heartland were all firm favourites. I was also heavily influenced by watching my dad working with his police dogs. I was fascinated by the trust and bond between animals and their humans. By the time I was 12, having spent most of my childhood trying to be around horses in any way that I could, my parents decided that this obsession was not wearing off any time soon and bought me my first horse.
Bobby was a very handsome 5 year old bay cob, who’s only previous ridden experience consisted of being hunted by a local farmer. Looking back, he was most definitely not the right choice for a first horse, BUT he was also the reason I ended up on this highly rewarding journey of relentless self-improvement. He was absolutely terrified of everything! He bolted, was a pull away on the ground and absolutely HATED trailers! These problems quickly led me down the path of ‘Natural Horsemanship’ training techniques, when more forceful traditional methods didn’t fit my picture of the type of partnership I knew was possible with my horse. I learned about groundwork and how it improved my communication with Bobby, so he began to trust me. In the end I was able to do liberty work with him and ride bridle-less, a huge milestone for me at the time. He taught me so much and I still cringe at the many mistakes I made with him. He is sadly no longer here and I will be forever grateful that he was in my life and how he put up so generously with all my mistakes.

My Story – The Learning Years
When I left school, I apprenticed with a natural horsemanship trainer who specialised in starting young horses in a gentle, step-by-step way. I got to handle and ride many different breeds and personalities of horse during my time there, and I will always carry with me the valuable lessons I learned from each one. This experience and later apprenticeships abroad, exposed me to many diverse training methods, including the importance of good horse husbandry. Different climates revealed how routine impacts a horse’s well-being, reinforcing my belief that ample forage, freedom of movement, and herd interaction is essential to a horse’s health and happiness. I always take into close account a horse’s day to day management when considering how to help owners with a training issue. It cannot be overlooked.
A few years ago, I was fortunate enough to meet two remarkable riding mentors, both classically trained under Charles Harris, Danny Pevsner and the legendary Nuno Oliveira. Their influence has completely transformed my understanding of horses. Eager to ride as they did, I asked for their secret and was introduced to the Alexander Technique—a method I knew nothing about but decided to try based on their advice.
From my first session, I was captivated. Small shifts in the ways I thought about moving my body created profound changes that my horse responded to with surprising ease and willingness. The less I “tried” to ride, the more freely my horse moved beneath me. I realized how often my supposed “correct signals” had actually been blocking him. Now, riding felt like the effortless, intuitive mind-to-mind connection I had always worked so hard to create. In that moment, I knew I’d found my calling. I had discovered the missing piece for teaching riders a kinder, more ethical way to connect with their horses in the saddle. Eager to share this transformative approach with others, I committed to becoming a certified Alexander Technique teacher. I’m thrilled to bring this powerful method to riders of all levels and disciplines—it’s a change I believe in passionately.
