PRIVATE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE SESSIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS
Do you experience pain or tension in your body? Want to improve posture, balance, mobility, and core strength? As a neuromuscular re-education specialist, I use gentle hands-on guidance to help you release habitual tension patterns that can cause chronic pain and musculoskeletal issues like lower back pain, sciatica and frozen shoulder. Riders in particular find that improving their own alignment greatly benefits their horses.
horse & rider lessons – workshops & clinics
I offer private lessons, group workshops and clinics designed to help riders develop greater body awareness, straightness and balance. Sessions focus on how you ride rather than simply what exercises you do. Sessions combine practical riding instruction with biomechanics theory, off horse proprioception exercises and tailored guidance for each horse/human partnership. Formats range from individual sessions to half-day, full-day and multi-day clinics.
Transformation training days – An immersive experience for horse and rider rooted in the Alexander Technique.
For a select number of months each year, I welcome individuals and very small groups to my home in South Shropshire for an exclusive and deeply immersive training experience. Underpinned with my knowledge of the Alexander Technique, these special training days are designed to offer a unique opportunity to really slow down and redefine your understanding of both yourself and your horse’s body and balance.
Rather than focusing solely on what exercises you do, the emphasis is on how you do it, often leading to profound and lasting improvements in both you and the horse.
Your day will include an off-horse postural assessment in the indoor classroom, groundwork/gymnastic in-hand work with your horse, and a ridden session where appropriate. You may also have the opportunity to observe me training my own horses. For those who wish, the experience can also include a guided hack through the breathtaking Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, allowing you to enjoy and apply your learning in a relaxed and inspiring setting.
With a variety of onsite accommodation options and individual grass turnout paddocks for visiting horses, every detail is designed to ensure a relaxing, enriching and memorable stay for both horse and rider.
